WP Engine has released a global case study benchmarking the new website for The Design and Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCI).

DCCI commissioned WONDR to consolidate its wide variety of  separate websites into a unified content hub.

Powered by WP Engine, the project went beyond a digital facelift and ultimately resulted in a strategic overhaul of DCCI’s site, which enhanced user engagement, strengthened DCCI’s brand reputation, and positioned the Council as a champion of Irish design and craft on a global stage.

Thanks to WONDR, we now have an online presence that truly reflects the role that DCCI plays in raising awareness of the vibrancy of the craft and design sector in Ireland.

The new site for DCCI features ‘campaign mode‘,  a unique feature that enables the team to have more bespoke campaign sites within their main site for key programmes like Design Week & Future Makers.

DCCI’s digital transformation, led by WONDR in partnership with WP Engine, marked a significant milestone for the organization.

The project wasn’t only about creating a new website, but crafting a digital experience that mirrored the depth and richness of Irish design and crafts.

We have been given a platform which we, the team at DCCI, along with the designers and makers we represent can be proud of. Our new website is an engaging visual experience that successfully demonstrates the breadth of work we do throughout Ireland.

Microsoft, one of the world’s most trusted technology companies, have globally benchmarked ESB’s Real Time Visualisation (RTV) Application in a new case study.

The case focuses on the story behind How Microsoft is empowering ESB to achieve its Net Zero 2040 ambition.

The team in ESB Generation and Trading manage, monitor and trade energy across the island. With an ambitious target of Net Zero by 2040, ESB sought to streamline its processes and make data-informed decisions faster.

Microsoft’s global case study documents the impact of the RTV app over the past 12 months as it is enabling ESB to process essential trading information, plan days in advance how they deploy their power stations, and make informed faster decisions.

Working with WONDR, ESB leveraged Microsoft Power BI and Azure to develop a centralised hub, a user-friendly, simple visualisation of all the energy assets across the island of Ireland such as market price, market dynamics, and what renewables are in the system.

“Projects like this are hugely interesting and exciting because you are supporting an organisation’s ambition to really make a difference.”

Dermot O'Shea Managing Director - WONDR

The RTV app drives focus in the right area to help ESB understand where they are generating the most carbon within ESB’s portfolio and where their focus should be in future planning, forecasting, and preparing KPIs and strategies to achieve Net Zero 2040.

Along with being Globally Benchmarked by Microsoft, ESB RTV app is also a global award winner at the UX Design Awards, one of the most prestigious international awarding bodies, who honour the impact accomplished UX design has on shaping a positive living environment for all.

Given the positive impact that the technology is already having within ESB, there are now plans to extend it to broader areas of the business in order to ensure access to business-critical information in real-time and better enable the company to make positive strategic decisions with regards to energy.

Econsultancy recently shared a post called ‘Four online experiences that impressed me during lockdown (and what brands can learn from them)’ and our client Pet Drugs Online were listed as one of the four.

We’ve worked with this brand for a number of years to reimagine their digital brand experience which led to the design of their eCommerce platform built on Magento.

Considerable thought was given on improving the whole user experience and it was a delight to see the author to pick up on the details we worked hard on and that have delivered such strong results for the brand that made them the No 1 Pet Care brand in the UK.

If you want to know a little more behind the project you can read a more detailed interview on the story behind it all. Alternatively you can view the case study where there’s plenty of lovely pictures of pets.
