WP Engine has released a global case study benchmarking the new website for The Design and Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCI).

DCCI commissioned WONDR to consolidate its wide variety of  separate websites into a unified content hub.

Powered by WP Engine, the project went beyond a digital facelift and ultimately resulted in a strategic overhaul of DCCI’s site, which enhanced user engagement, strengthened DCCI’s brand reputation, and positioned the Council as a champion of Irish design and craft on a global stage.

Thanks to WONDR, we now have an online presence that truly reflects the role that DCCI plays in raising awareness of the vibrancy of the craft and design sector in Ireland.

Suzy O’Keefe Head of Comms & Digital

The new site for DCCI features ‘campaign mode‘,  a unique feature that enables the team to have more bespoke campaign sites within their main site for key programmes like Design Week & Future Makers.

DCCI’s digital transformation, led by WONDR in partnership with WP Engine, marked a significant milestone for the organization.

The project wasn’t only about creating a new website, but crafting a digital experience that mirrored the depth and richness of Irish design and crafts.

We have been given a platform which we, the team at DCCI, along with the designers and makers we represent can be proud of. Our new website is an engaging visual experience that successfully demonstrates the breadth of work we do throughout Ireland.

Vanguards of the Digital Space

This year the Vega Statuette has been upgraded to honour the “Vanguards of the Digital Space”

Stoic and prepared, the Vega statuettes exude the very essence of what it takes to be a frontrunner in a digital age. The statuette depicts the figure of a warrior, who’s postured upright with their shield up, ready to take on whatever comes their way.

The statuette’s face is indiscernible under their helmet, signifying how those who go further do not always do so to seek glory.

“With all the noise that riddles the digital universe, salient talents will shine brightest, much like the stars.”

Global Recognition

Recently WONDR has be recognised by some of the most prestigious award programmes across the globe, along with being globally benchmarked by the world’s most trusted technology brands.

Some highlights include:

A better brush doesn’t make you a better artist. After all it’s simply a tool. And as with all tools and innovations, what’s more important than the technology itself, is knowing how and when to use it.

Ensuring that the innovation augments and supports your creative process. Employing it with purpose and precision to refine, but not dictate, your vision. And so it is with AI.

For the last year, WONDR have been practicing design with AI technology embedded directly into our flows and processes. We now predict, with up to 95% accuracy, how real users are going to perceive and interact with our designs and our technology choices.

This allows us to challenge and validate the instinctive decisions all designers bring to products. Though these choices are borne from experience and intuition, they are not beyond question, or improvement. In this way AI acts as a sense-check. An impartial, data-rich challenger providing us with accurate feedback and clear opportunities to refine our work.

This impartiality is critical in protecting the voice of the user. It removes subjectivity from our own & our clients’ decisions. It’s not what we say it is, it’s simply what it is.

Mariana Spagnuolo Design Lead
WONDR
We’ve always relied on user testing to validate our approach. This will continue. AI is not quite human, yet. However by harnessing it we have sped up our design process, reduced risk and reduced cost for our clients. Not bad for a new brush.
